The IFS Food Standard is a GFSI-recognised (Global Food Safety Initiative) standard for auditing food manufacturers, and Mljekara Livno has achieved it. It focuses on food safety and on the quality of processes and products. It applies to food processing companies and to companies that pack loose food products.
IFS Food applies when products are “processed” or when there is a risk of product contamination during primary packaging. The standard matters for all food manufacturers, and especially for those producing private labels, as it contains many requirements related to compliance with customer specifications.
The standard supports production and marketing departments in their efforts for brand safety and quality. IFS Food was developed with the full and active involvement of certification bodies, retailers, the food industry and food service companies.
